Why What Happened in Benghazi Matters

Four good men died on that fateful day, on September 11th, 2012, Ambassador Rick Stevens; Sean Smith, U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer; and former Navy SEALs, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone S. Woods. Former Navy Seals Brandon Web and Jack Murphy wrote a terrific Kindle book, entitled Benghazi, the Definitive Report, that tells of the events prior to, during and after the attack.

(Another question to ask the powers that be is why these men’s families have yet to receive any compensation from our government for their loved ones ultimate sacrifice. The answer to that might be most interesting to all of us.)

And yet, many people my wonder why what happened in Benghazi matters. today. If you too wonder, I suggest reading an excellent article written by Reporter, John Kass, of the Chicago Tribune, entitled , “Benghazi Email Coverup,” explaining why we need to hold our powers that be accountable can be reached at this link: http://tinyurl.com/kg2eqg4

  1. Look, everything “matters”. When a kid steps on an ant, it matters to God. But relatively speaking, does it matter as much as the 10,000 larger problems we ought to be dealing with? The obvious answer is no.

    1. Yes, it matters. Injustice matters. Certainly there are many things wrong in this country and in this world, but we cannot solve everything. (How does that old joke go? How can you eat a whale? One bit at a time.)

As for myself, I believe that this is an important issue and also part of what many people in the US believe is that our current administration continually lies to us(and play nasty little word games.) Yes, administrations and presidents has lied to us in the past; however, in this time in history, the people are beginning to wake up and are willing to begin to question “cover-ups” and that is a really good thing. Hey, we are Americans, we question authority, it is what has made our country great.
